Curation and matching
What is Scurati?
Scurati is a speaker-curation and booking service for international events. It combines semantic matching across more than 5,000 structured speaker profiles with experienced human judgment. The result is a focused 3+1 first orientation, followed by personal guidance from selection through to booking.
How does the 3+1 shortlist work?
Your brief starts with the question the keynote should answer, who will be in the room and what should change afterwards. Scurati matches that context with three relevant speaker directions and one additional perspective that approaches the brief from a useful, less obvious angle.
Each recommendation includes a core message and a clear reason for suitability, so you can evaluate the thinking behind the names.
What does the “+1” mean?
The +1 is a fresh perspective that still serves the brief. It may come from an adjacent discipline, a different type of experience or a speaker who frames the question in an unexpected way. Its purpose is to widen the conversation without creating another long list.
What is semantic matching?
A keyword search looks for the same words. Semantic matching looks for the same meaning. Scurati considers the relationship between your question, audience, intended outcome and event context, then compares it with speakers’ wider body of work, including themes, talks, outcomes, sectors and regional relevance.
That allows the system to find a strong fit even when the speaker describes the solution differently from the original brief.
Is the shortlist generated entirely by AI?
Technology performs the initial search and creates the fast 3+1 orientation. Human judgment enters when the options are discussed, refined and moved towards a booking. A Scurati consultant assesses context, tone, commercial reality and any requirements that cannot be reduced to profile data.
Is the first shortlist final?
No. It is a focused starting point for a better conversation. You may already see the right direction, or the response may reveal that the brief needs to be adjusted. Your Scurati consultant can refine the criteria, explore alternatives and help you compare the strongest options.
From shortlist to booking
How quickly will I receive the shortlist?
The first 3+1 orientation is usually delivered by email in about five minutes after a complete brief has been submitted. Complex or unusual requirements may need additional personal research.
What happens after I receive it?
A Scurati consultant follows up to discuss the recommendations and understand your reaction. From there, we refine the direction where useful, confirm the commercial position of the preferred speakers and guide the decision towards a signed booking.
How are fees and availability confirmed?
Fees and availability are confirmed personally with the relevant speaker, management or bureau before you commit. We also clarify travel, format, timing and other material conditions, because published or historic fee information is never a substitute for a current quotation.
Does the first shortlist cost anything?
No. The initial 3+1 orientation is free and without obligation. If you decide to proceed, speaker fees, travel costs, Scurati’s disclosed commission and any other relevant commercial terms are explained before a booking is agreed.
What is the One-Contract Policy?
Client, speaker and Scurati work from one shared agreement. The parties, responsibilities, commercial terms and delivery conditions are visible within the same contractual framework. This creates a clear route from agreement to stage and avoids conflicting back-to-back contracts.
Can Scurati manage the complete booking?
Yes. Scurati handles fee negotiation, contracting and the coordination needed to move the engagement towards the event. The objective is a signed booking with clear responsibilities, followed by an orderly preparation process through to the keynote.
Practical questions
Where do the speaker recommendations come from?
Scurati draws from a structured database of more than 5,000 international speaker profiles. The database is built and maintained for curation rather than public catalogue browsing. For a serious booking conversation, profile information, current role, fit, fee and availability are checked again as part of the personal process.
How does Scurati assess speaker quality?
Our Scurati Score assesses expertise, credibility and relevance for speaking engagements. Speakers need at least 3 out of 5 to enter our curated database. Those below the threshold receive specific recommendations to strengthen their profile and develop their offering.
Does Scurati work with a fixed roster?
No. Scurati can work across speaker bureaus, management companies and direct speaker relationships. Recommendations begin with the event brief and the relevant expertise rather than an exclusive list that must be sold.
Can you support international events and different languages?
Yes. Scurati supports international events across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and other global markets. Our current curation service focuses exclusively on English-speaking keynote speakers. Language selection will expand as speakers offering additional languages join our curated pool.
Can I enquire about a specific speaker?
Yes. If you already have a speaker in mind, Scurati can check current fees, availability and booking conditions and discuss whether the profile fits your event. You can use the enquiry option on a speaker profile or contact us directly on WhatsApp.
What happens if a speaker cancels at short notice?
Scurati acts quickly to help you find a suitable replacement. Your 3+1 shortlist gives us relevant alternatives to revisit, alongside other speakers in our network. We check availability and brief fit with you, then coordinate the next steps. Any replacement remains subject to availability and agreement.
What if none of the first four options feels right?
That response is useful information. It helps reveal which part of the brief, tone, authority level or budget needs to change. A Scurati consultant can use that feedback to refine the search and propose a stronger next set of options.
