Abigail Posner is the founder of Human Code Company and a former Director of U.S. Creative Works at Google. She works with leaders on human creativity, innovation and the role of AI in expanding what people can do. Her perspective combines anthropology with experience inside advertising and a major technology business.
Posner studied social anthropology at Harvard University before developing a career in brand and creative strategy. She held senior strategy roles at DDB New York and Publicis New York and spent thirteen years at Google. Her work there included Humanizing Digital, an exploration of the emotional and cultural dimensions of people's relationships with technology. Across these settings, she has examined how understanding human behaviour can shape more meaningful creative decisions.
Her current work centres on the idea of a person's Human Code: the particular combination of experience, curiosity, knowledge and perspective they bring to a problem. Her Expansiveness framework encourages leaders to connect those dimensions rather than keep them in separate professional compartments. Alongside this, she explores creativity as a capacity that can be developed through observation, collaboration and deliberate practice, with AI providing additional ways to investigate and extend an idea.
For organisations, the significance lies in how innovation is organised. New tools alone do not determine which questions a team asks or which possibilities it considers valuable. Posner brings attention back to the people doing that work, and to the conditions that help them contribute with originality. Her perspective is relevant to leadership, marketing and transformation agendas that need technology to serve a more clearly articulated human purpose.
