Google's First Chief Decision Scientist | Founder of Decision Intelligence

Google's first Chief Decision Scientist, who trained more than 20,000 employees and built the discipline of Decision Intelligence from scratch. Kozyrkov's core message: most organizations don't have a data problem — they have a decision problem.

Keynote Topics:

  • Decision Intelligence: Turning AI and Data into Better Decisions
The discipline Kozyrkov named and codified, which starts with the decision an organization is trying to get right and works backward to the technology. A sharper way to convert dashboards, pipelines, and models into decisions that are demonstrably better.
  • Leading an AI-First Organization
How to build the culture and structures that turn AI investment into results, from the person who led Google's own transformation. Kozyrkov draws on guiding over 500 projects and five years running Decision Intelligence at scale.
  • Telling Hype from Real Value in AI
A practical filter for separating genuine AI opportunity from noise, at a moment when both are abundant. Kozyrkov gives leaders the diagnostic questions that reveal whether a project will actually deliver.
  • Building Decision-Making as a Leadership Skill
Why decision-making is a trainable discipline, not an instinct — and how leaders can get measurably better at it. Kozyrkov reframes the wrong decision scoped, wrong owner, or wrong question as fixable, shared problems.

speaker Bio:

Cassie Kozyrkov is the founder of Decision Intelligence and served as Google's first Chief Decision Scientist, where she led the company's transformation into an AI-first organization. Over nearly a decade at Google, she personally trained more than 20,000 employees in data-driven decision-making and AI, and guided over 500 projects — building the Decision Intelligence function from scratch and running it for five years. Today she is the founder and CEO of Kozyr, advising senior leaders at organizations including NASA, Gucci, Spotify, Meta, and GSK on AI strategy and decision design.

A South African statistician who began studying economics and mathematical statistics at fifteen, Kozyrkov went on to the University of Chicago and to Duke University, where she focused on neuroeconomics. She sits on the Innovation Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, has been named a LinkedIn Top Voice for six consecutive years, and has reached millions of readers through her writing in the Harvard Business Review, WIRED, Fortune, and The Wall Street Journal. She has spoken on stages including the United Nations, the World Economic Forum, and SXSW, in over 40 countries across all seven continents.

Summary (Signature Framework — Decision Intelligence):

Kozyrkov's core argument is deceptively simple: most organizations don't have a data problem, they have a decision problem. The dashboards, pipelines, and models are all in place — and yet leaders still can't say which decisions are demonstrably better because of any of it. Decision Intelligence, the discipline she named and codified, flips the usual order: it starts with the decision an organization is trying to get right and works backward to the technology, rather than deploying AI first and hoping value follows. For boards wrestling with stalled AI initiatives, she offers a sharper diagnosis — wrong decision scoped, wrong owner, or wrong question asked of the model — and a shared language to fix it.
