Keynote Topics:
- Purple Cow: Why Remarkable Beats Average
Godin's most famous idea is that in a crowded world, being safe is the riskiest strategy of all — you are either remarkable or invisible. He shows how to build the "remarkable" into a product from day one, rather than relying on advertising to rescue an average one. - This Is Marketing: Serving Your Smallest Viable Audience
Drawing on his bestseller, Godin reframes marketing as an act of generosity and service — finding the specific people you can best serve, solving their problem, and earning the trust that turns customers into advocates. - Building Tribes and Leading Movements
Godin explores how ideas actually spread: not by shouting at the mass market, but by connecting and leading a "tribe" of people who share a belief — and why leadership today is about going first and standing for something. - Doing Work That Matters in a Changing World
From Linchpin to The Practice, Godin challenges audiences to do creative work that can't be easily replaced — making a difference, shipping their ideas, and resisting the race to the bottom.
speaker Bio:
Seth Godin is one of the most influential voices in modern marketing — the author of more than twenty international bestsellers that have changed how the world thinks about marketing, leadership, and the spread of ideas. Books including Purple Cow, Tribes, Linchpin, The Dip, and This Is Marketing have been translated into nearly forty languages and reached millions of readers. His daily blog is read by around a million people and is one of the most popular in the world.
A pioneer of online marketing and education, Godin built and sold the early internet company Yoyodyne to Yahoo!, where he became Vice President of Direct Marketing, and later founded the altMBA and the Akimbo Workshops, which have transformed the work of thousands. In 2013 he was inducted into the Direct Marketing Hall of Fame, and in 2018 into the Marketing Hall of Fame — quite possibly the only person to hold both honors. Across four decades, he has remained the rare marketing thinker whose ideas shape not just campaigns, but how people think about their work.
Summary: Signature Idea — Remarkable or Invisible
Godin's enduring argument is captured in a single image: drive past a field of brown cows and you stop noticing them, but a purple cow would stop you in your tracks. In a marketplace saturated with advertising people have learned to ignore, the only durable strategy is to be genuinely remarkable — and, crucially, to build that remarkability into the product itself rather than bolting marketing on afterward. The corollary, developed across his later work, is that you don't earn attention by interrupting the masses but by serving a specific audience so well they spread the word for you. For any leader or organization fighting to be heard, Godin offers both a diagnosis of why ordinary no longer works and a philosophy for what to do instead.
